We LOVE Jeeps and wanted to make it easy for other Jeep enthusiasts to find great products for their Jeep.
First, if you want to select and install a CB radio in your Jeep, we know that it can be a difficult task. If you want to avoid hours of research, trying to figure out which components are best and are compatible, this Jeep Enthusiast Page is sure to help. We have taken all the hard work out of it for you. You just have to make sure to choose the correct antenna mount for your Jeep model and year.
Below, we have outlined different options for your CB radio, antenna, and mount. In addition to that information, please keep the following in mind:
- Be sure to choose the correct antenna mount for your Jeep model and year
- Not all of the antenna mounts include the coax cable and stud
- We highly recommend a spring for your antenna, but it is optional
- If you select a radio that does not have a built-in SWR meter, you should consider getting an external SWR meter to TUNE YOUR ANTENNA.
- Orders within the continental US that are over $75 qualify for free shipping!
Jeep CB Radio
Jeeps and other off road vehicles tend to have less space for mounting a CB radio. Because of this, we typically recommend a small radio for a Jeep. The smaller radios we offer in this package put out the maximum allowed 4 watts just like the bigger radios. If you do find a little more room for a CB in your Jeep, we recommend the BC880.

Jeep CB Antenna
As with all CB radio antennas, the antenna for your Jeep should be as tall as you can accommodate on your vehicle without becoming dangerous or impractical. A taller CB antenna will mean increased range and better reception. With less stable mounts, such as the fender mounts, you will want to stick with a 3 or 4 foot antenna.

Jeep Coax Cable
If you selected an antenna mount without coax, you will need to get get some! You can select between the PL259 to PL259 coax (PP8X18) or the PL259 to Lug (Hoop) Connectors (PL8X18). We recommend 18 feet of coax because many antenna manufacturers use 18 feet of coax to somewhat pre-tune the antennas. By getting the 18 feet of coax, you will likely have less antenna tuning needed.
If you end up with excess coax, be sure to properly store it. The number one reason that people contact us with high SWR can simply be solved by properly storing the excess coax- store any excess coax in a figure 8, about a foot in length, and loosely bound in the center so it will look like a long skinny 8. Avoid wrapping it in a coil or ball, winding it back and forth inside or outside the vehicle, or just shoving it under your floor mat.
This detailed guide from CB World "tuning your CB Antenna" can save you a lot of time when dialing in your SWR- don't forget to do this! It is the most important step in antenna installation to optimize the performance of your antenna and reduce the chances of damaging your awesome CB radio!
