Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a technology that allows you to make telephone calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular (or analog) phone line.  You will need to subscribe to  TeleVantage broadband phone service to use this phone in your home.  Once you subscribe to this service, you simply plug this phone in the line between your broadband modem and your computer.  You can plug your old phone into this one and keep using it if you wish!
