Stryker SR-955HPC high power 10/12 Meter Radio AM/FM, SSB two-way transceiver is designed to provide excellent reliable performance. The SR-955HPC is loaded with enough top quality features that both novice and Elmer amateur radio operators will be satisfied for many years.
The SR-955HPC features an attractive seven color LED backlit faceplate that lets the operator select the best contrast for day or nighttime operation. No need to suffer eye strain while working your 10 meter unit. 60+ watts PEP output is available to make sure your signal is received loud and clear. The Stryker SR-955HPC's six frequency digit counter won't make you guess if you locked on frequency; built-in digital echo and variable talk-back volume control, combined with Roger Beep, mic & RF gain, and advanced noise filters provide unmatched audio performance.
The SR-955HPC has an easily navigable function menu for customizing the radio controls and features. Additionally the Stryker radio includes a PC programming cable which simplifies more complex tasks, providing the user with full control of configuring the high performance radio.
Multiple color display
The backlit display on the SR-955HPC can be switched between 7 colors: Red, blue, yellow, aqua, purple, green, and white. A dedicated button on the front left of the face of the radio allows you to change the color quickly and easily. It is even possible to set up the color to change automatically every so often with an adjustable delay. The brightness of the display is adjusted by switching the DIM/HIC switch to DIM and rotating the channel knob. There are 32 levels including completely off.
The SR955-HPC is a high powered radio, pumping out 60+ watts PEP through four FQP13N10 MOSFET transistors.
The SR955HPC gives you a lot of control when it comes to fine tuning on a frequency. Both the fine and coarse clarifiers on this radio have programmable ranges. You can also set them to work only on receive or on transmit as well.
If you are a fan of Roger beeps, there are 6 to choose from right out of the box. You can switch roger beep feature on and off with a switch on the front of the radio. The preloaded beeps can be selected through the programming menu. You can also create customized roger beeps (tones only) with the PC software and load them into the radios on board memory!
If you plan on opening up the frequencies on the SR-955HPC you will have the option of operating in a traditional band mode, or VFO mode. The VFO mode allows you to switch through the entire frequency range continuously without switching bands.
Echo and Talkback
These popular features have been highly refined in this radio. Both are easily controlled by dials on the face of the radio. The echo volume and delay are controlled by a dual knob on bottom row, right of center. The echo can be turned on and off with a switch on the far right of the middle row. Having the echo on/off here allows you to turn it off and on without changing your volume and delay settings. The talkback is adjusted with the inner knob on the top left of the face. The talkback on this radio works very well, eliminating the annoying squeal that can occur with inferior design.
The list of customizable features in the Stryker SR-955HPC is staggering! Most of these are available through the radios built in menus and controls. There are a few that you adjust by connecting the radio to your PC. This radio really gives you a lot of options for tweaking and customization!
